I have been thinking about the philosophy of “afropresentism,” coined by Neema Githere. I will write more thoughts as they come soon, but for now they inspire a series of questions to take with you as you seek gentle landing this week.
I believe we are all called to notice something. In that noticing, something is meant to change. Is it the thing/person we notice, or us? Or both? But so much stands in the way of our noticing and attention is a valuable commodity.1 It must be tuned to a desire to be here.
What helps you tune your desire to be here, presently? And when you are present, what do you notice? And when you notice, what happens when you interact with your noticing?
touchstone: called to notice
Another inspiration to name from this week's school readings, Wendy Farley on "the wounding and healing of desire."
