"A Promised Embrace"

Hints & Hello

My, my, my. Spring break is over and I am not sad, but stilled. Not in the way that promises peace, but in the way that recognized all that has been withheld. I have rested, guilt-free and found many moments of deep connection to enjoy.

Now, I wait, in the hints of spring I am noticing around me.¹ Basking in all of it.

Would you bask with me?

Hold your head up with me, next time you catch a note of some wonderful, gloating smell. You know, the kind of scent that is bravely beautiful? If you are sensitive to scents, let your eyes linger on a picture or scene you can quickly find that takes your breath away. If the sound is more your thing, take a moment to listen to that favorite song—the one that sounds like it listens to you more than the other way around.

This picture of me below is from a recent walk to the bus, on my way to reconnect with a college friend. I believe in holy conversations and I feel deeply that this one was, in part because the communion elements of coffee and books were present.

It felt good to say hello again.
