Hello gentle-people,
I greet you from this wilderness journey of trying to find a gentle landing with an analogy a friend recently gave me when she said “I see you waving a machete.”
I responded, “that is very Haitian. That is the very metaphor I needed to keep going.”
I am trying to clear a path through the digital wilderness for a clearing for particular kinds of people. I will share more about them soon, but for now, in this season of trying new things to generate support for my work, so here’s a little video from a family-hosted decathlon I was invited to. Everything below is what is mentioned, including the posts from my archive which is now unlocked so that I can more easily reference my writing & y’all can easily share it if that’s what you wanna do.
Mentioned in this video:
🐦⬛Don’t Get Got Game
I don’t get anything if you buy this game, except maybe a great story if you come back and tell it
🐦⬛ Song of Solomon - Toni Morrison
🐦⬛Dr. Lakisha Lockhart-Rusch - Doing Theological Double Dutch: A Womanist Pedagogy of Play

Here is where you can buy the book!
You could also check out Dr. Lockhart speaking at Auburn Theological Seminary this Friday.
🐦⬛ The Black Sports Ministry Network
In 2024, worked as a project assistant for the Black Sports Ministry Network, which exists to create a network of interfaith, progressive Black chaplains to support athletes through spiritual care. It was a life-giving opportunity to work with this my friend, Cynthia Perry and a wonderful team of Black women! Also I designed the website (logo & branding wasn’t me though)!
This is what a gentle landing looks like, btw.
🐦⬛ blessing the boats - Lucille Clifton
A picture from a very important moment of vocational confusion where “blessing the boats” soothed me. I feel I am finally embracing the meandering I wrote about here in reflection on it.
🐦⬛ Saving Time - Jenny Odell
🐦⬛The Archive is Open — Yup, No More Paywall
I will explain more later—including what I plan to offer in tiers for those who are paid subscribers—but for now this is what you need to know: I am done writing for awhile. A combination of “how many times can I say the same thing?” and “why is no one reading/replying/sharing/supporting?” has led me here.
Also, I said what I said.
So here it is:
