How is it that every time I read something you write, I'm thinking, "That's totally me!!!" 🤗
So many things resonated with me from this post...
1) Someone else articulating that there can be moments -- and not always the common moments that the world recognizes -- that divide your life into "before" and "after." Sometimes I've felt so weak and overdramatic describing my particular dividing event that way; it's really helpful to see someone else expressing that.
2) Trying to process anger. WHEW. I just ... no words, simply acknowledging the struggle.
3) Your description of your current housing situation made me realize: I'm not sure I've ever really had a place to crash out and be supported. I've had times when I wanted to, and maybe even needed to; but I've always felt like I had to keep trying to pull myself together to survive. I've had wonderful family and friends who've supported me during my hardest times ... and at the same time, there's something about being welcomed into sharing home, having people to help hold you up economically and logistically while you are reeling, that I think I've resigned myself to never really being able to have. I hope this year is the start of that changing -- and I'm afraid to hold that hope, in case I find out it's not grounded in reality.
I am holding the dream of a gentle landing for you where you can fall apart when you need to, where you find support through the hardest times. Space for anger and the hurt that lives behind it.
